Product Features
● Four-Wire Construction: The basket is composed of four flat, parallel wires joined at the tip and the handle.
● Material: Primarily made of nitinol for its superelasticity and shape memory, allowing the basket to be straightened inside a catheter and spring back to its original form upon deployment without permanent deformation.
● Radiopaque Markers: The basket wires and sheath are visible under fluoroscopy, providing the urologist with real-time X-ray guidance.
● Handle Mechanism: An ergonomic handle with a sliding mechanism to open and close the basket with single-handed precision.
Application scenarios
● Medium-Sized Stones: Its larger internal volume makes it ideal for stones that are too large for a 3-wire basket but still manageable for retrieval.
● Stones in the Kidney: The headless design and open architecture allow it to be navigated and deployed in the kidney's chambers without pushing the stone away.
● Post-Lithotripsy Retrieval: Excellent for collecting multiple fragments after laser stone dusting or fragmentation.
Instruction for use
● Access: A ureteroscope is advanced to the stone.
● Insertion and Deployment: The closed 4-wire basket is passed through the scope's working channel and deployed beyond the stone.
● Engagement: The basket is pulled back or manipulated so the stone enters the open "cage" between the parallel wires.
● Capture: The sheath is advanced, causing the parallel wires to close uniformly around the stone, securely caging it.
● Retrieval: The entire assembly (scope, basket, and stone) is withdrawn.
