PTFE Guidewire

Medical PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) Guidewire is a specialized medical device used in various minimally invasive procedures to navigate through blood vessels, ducts, or other anatomical structures. PTFE, a synthetic fluoropolymer, is known for its exceptional lubricity, chemical resistance, and biocompatibility, making it an ideal coating material for guidewires. PTFE-coated guidewires are designed to provide smooth navigation, reduce friction, and minimize trauma to tissues during medical procedures.

    Product Features

    ● PTFE Guidewire has good flexibility and is not easy to bend.
    ● The PTFE coating layer is good lubricity, easy to insert smoothly.
    ● For cardiovascular surgery and urinary surgery.
    ● Guide angiography catheter in cardiovascular surgery.
    ● Made from materials like stainless steel, providing strength and flexibility.
    ● Includes radiopaque tips or markers for visibility under fluoroscopy or X-ray imaging.

    Material and structure

    ● Stainless steel core wire +  Stainless steel spring wire+ PTFE coating(coating on spring wire)

    Instruction for use

    Pre-Procedure Preparation

    ● Wire Selection: Choose an appropriate diameter and length.
    ● Inspection: Ensure sterile packaging is intact. Check for defects (kinks, coating peeling).
    ● Flushing: Flush with heparinized saline to lubricate and prevent clotting.

    Insertion & Navigation

    ● Vessel Access: Use the Seldinger technique to insert a sheath (e.g., femoral, radial).
    ● Wire Introduction: Advance the PTFE wire through the sheath under fluoroscopic guidance. Rotate gently for better steerability in tortuous anatomy.

    Catheter Guidance

    ● Once the wire is positioned in the target vessel, advance the angiography catheter over it. Maintain wire position while injecting contrast.

    Lesion Crossing (if needed)

    ● For tight stenoses, use slow, controlled movements to avoid dissection.

    Contrast Injection & Imaging

    ● Retract the wire slightly before contrast injection to avoid artifactual vessel narrowing.
    ● Re-advance the wire if further catheter manipulation is needed.

    Post-Angiography Steps

    ● Wire Removal: Withdraw slowly under fluoroscopy to ensure no vessel injury.

    PRODUCT APPLICATION

    ● Vascular Interventions: Used in angioplasty, stent placement, and other vascular procedures.
    ● Urological Procedures: Navigates through the urinary tract for stone removal or stent placement.
    ● Biliary and Pancreatic Interventions: Assists in accessing and treating blockages in the bile or pancreatic ducts.
    ● Gastrointestinal Procedures: Used in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) or other GI interventions.
    ● Neurological Interventions: Supports navigation in neurovascular procedures.
