PTCA Guidewire

Tianck Medical PTCA (Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty) Guidewire is a critical medical device used in interventional cardiology procedures to navigate through blood vessels and reach the coronary arteries. It serves as a guide for other medical devices, such as balloon catheters or stents, during minimally invasive procedures to treat coronary artery disease (CAD). PTCA guidewires are designed to be highly flexible, steerable, and durable, enabling cardiologists to perform complex procedures with precision and safety.

    Product Features

    ● Platinum alloy at the end of the PTCA Guidewire has high X-ray visibility.
    ● There are different models according to the flexibility of the tip.
    ● Suitable for a wide range of coronary interventions, from simple angioplasty to complex CTO procedures.
    ● Made from materials like nitinol and platinum, providing strength and flexibility while minimizing the risk of breakage.

    Material and structure

    ● Core wire: Nitinol.
    ● Coil wire: Stainless steel and platinum.
    ● Tip: TPU jacket + hydrophilic coating.

    Instruction for use

    Preparation

    ● Inspect the guidewire for damage (e.g., bends, coating defects).
    ● Flush with heparinized saline to lubricate and prevent clotting.
    ● Select appropriate wire type based on lesion characteristics.

    Insertion Technique

    ● Insert through a guiding catheter already positioned in the coronary ostium.
    ● Advance the wire under fluoroscopy, rotating gently for better steerability.
    ● Cross the lesion with careful manipulation (avoid pushing if resistance is high).
    ● Confirm position distal to the lesion before advancing devices (balloon/stent).

    During the Procedure

    ● Maintain wire position while exchanging devices.
    ● Avoid excessive movement to prevent vessel injury.
    ● If resistance is met, reassess wire position-do not force advancement.

    Removal

    ● Slowly retract under fluoroscopy to ensure no tip damage or vessel trauma.
    ● Inspect the wire post-use for integrity (e.g., fractures, coating separation).

    PRODUCT APPLICATION

    ● Coronary Angioplasty: Used to guide balloon catheters to the site of a blockage in the coronary arteries for dilation.
    ● Stent Placement: Facilitates the delivery and positioning of stents to keep arteries open.
    ● Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) Procedures: Specialized guidewires are used to navigate through completely blocked arteries.
    ● Diagnostic Angiography: Assists in the placement of catheters for imaging coronary arteries.
